#16: Jackie After O by Tina Cassidy
I rarely read nonfiction books because if they’re not written well, they can be very dry and impersonal. Tina Cassidy’s Jackie After O was the exact opposite of that. It’s the story of the life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, particularly later in her life after she’s lost her second husband and the things she worked to achieve after that. It’s a surprisingly inspiring story of a strong, genuine woman and the things she did with her life. Cassidy does an incredible job of giving readers a full picture of Jackie O, regardless of how much knowledge you have of her when you pick up the book. I came to deeply understand her life beyond the things I saw in random news specials and old headlines. I came to see her as an intelligent, strong woman that accomplished great things despite the unfortunate circumstances that had happened in her life. Definitely recommend you pick this up next time you’re looking for a little nonfiction.
